Once planned to be a floating bridge in 1181, but in 1591 has been terminated the final construction of the new bridge by the architect Antonio Da Ponte, whose design has survived till current days. Today, as it has always been, the Rialto Bridge is one of the most lively location of the venetian commercial understanding, with its two raws of shops united by the central step attracting daily thousands of tourists from all over the world.
